Hidden in π is a free hobby site for finding things in the digits of π. By using it you agree to these terms.
What the site is
An unofficial fan project, run as a hobby. Results come from the first 100 billion decimals of π as computed by Google Cloud and are given for fun, as they are. We work hard to get them right but can’t promise that every result is correct, so please don’t rely on them for anything important.
Using it fairly
- Don’t scrape, flood or automate the site, and don’t try to get round its limits or its security.
- Don’t use it to find, reveal or publish other people’s private numbers.
- We may limit, pause or stop any part of the site at any time.
Content rules
These apply to everything you write here: Love Hunt messages, nicknames, Hall of Finds words and names in a fight.
- Be kind: no hate, harassment, bullying, threats, slurs or sexual content.
- No personal details: no phone numbers or other runs of 7 or more digits, no email addresses, no home addresses and no links.
- Love Hunt messages are text only, up to 60 characters; nicknames are one word of up to 20 letters.
- Nothing illegal, and don’t pretend to be someone else.
- Anyone can report a hunt; after three reports it is taken down. We may remove anything visitors write, and pause all of it, at any time and without notice.
- What you write stays yours, but you let us show it on the site for as long as it is up.
Paid extras
Paid extras (coming soon) are sold by Paddle as merchant of record, under Paddle’s own buyer terms. Prices are on the pricing page and refunds follow our refund policy. Claiming a word lists your name on that word’s page; it doesn’t make you its owner.
Affiliate links
Book links marked “affiliate link” go to Amazon with our Amazon Associates tag, so we may earn a small commission on a qualifying purchase, at no extra cost to you. We don’t sell the books: prices, stock, delivery and returns are Amazon’s, under Amazon’s own terms. A book on our bookshelf is one we think is worth reading; its author and publisher haven’t endorsed this site.
Names and ads
Clubs, countries, cities and famous names appear because their letters spell digits on a phone keypad; that doesn’t mean they endorse the site. Some pages show ads (see the privacy policy).
No warranty
The site is provided free and as it is, without any warranty. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss from using it. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
Our contact address is being set up and will be listed here before the site launches.
